OSMINGTON BAY – 29th April to 1st May 2020

This will be the 12th year that Orchard has used visited Osmington Bay. The Centre is set in a beautiful location with a view of Portland Bay and the Dorset coast and the Year 5 team are looking forward to an exciting and challenging 3 days!  The food is wonderful catering for the fussiest of eaters.

The residential will take place from Wednesday 29th April to Friday 1st May 2020 giving the Year 5 group a 3 day/2 night stay at Osmington Bay Adventure & Study Centre, near Weymouth, where the children will be able to participate in a variety of exciting activities.  These activities will start on Wednesday afternoon until Friday lunchtime, when we will return to school.

The children will be sharing 4 person rooms with en-suite and bunk beds. Osmington provides excellent food – 2 evening meals, 2 lunches and 2 breakfasts.  We ask you to provide a packed lunch for the arrival day.  Travel to and from will be by luxury coaches.

This residential visit has been costed very carefully on the assumption that parents, wishing their children to participate, will pay a contribution of £265 which will include all meals from the Wednesday teatime through to Friday lunch, accommodation, travel and all activities at the centre.

To secure a place, we require a non-returnable deposit of £65 by Monday 21st October 2019.   Payments can be made by cash, cheque or online.  Please make cheques payable to H.C.C. The final balance to be paid by Tuesday 31st March 2020.

Monies must be paid by the instalment dates.   We would encourage you to pay in stages on or around the suggested dates rather than a one-off lump sum on the deadline.  If you are experiencing genuine financial difficulties then please contact the school office staff before the deposit deadline so a plan can be agreed.  To secure a place on the Osmington trip and for school to confirm numbers, please complete the slip below and return it with the deposit payment to the school office by 21st October, thank you.

A further meeting will take place prior to travel around the Easter holiday time with another letter to follow with a kit list, insurance synopsis and our request for known medical conditions, medicines and allergies.

The Year 5 trip is an excellent outing for the children providing them with a great variety of experiences.
