At Orchard computing is taught as part of the PPA timetable. It is taught by a specialist in our well-equipped computing suite. Throughout their time at Orchard the pupils are given the opportunity to present work through different strands of digital literacy, learn about the internet and how it works and learn how to program a computer. We also ensure that pupils know how to use the computer safely and responsibly and support them in becoming good digital citizens.

Computing, and general computer skills, are also covered within classrooms and in the rest of the curriculum. We have a class set of chrome books which are in regular use as well as tablet computers which are used by both staff and pupils.

Each class nominates a digital leader at the beginning of the year and they help to keep blogs up to date and try out new equipment when it arrives.
