HOW ARE THE SCHOOL’S RESOUCES ALLOCATED AND MATCHED TO CHILDREN’S SEN NEEDS?

v  At Orchard Junior School we ensure that all children with Special Educational Needs are supported to the best of the school’s ability with the funds available to us.

v  Our team of nineteen  Learning Support Assistants are funded  by the Notional SEN Budget together with additional funds made available by the Governing Body.  Where pupils are in receipt of a SENSA or EHCP the school will receive ‘top-up’ funding from the Local Authority.  The Learning Support Assistants work alongside the class teachers to deliver intervention programmes designed to meet individual needs.

v  The budget is allocated on a needs basis.  Pupils with the most complex needs are given the most support e.g. 1:1 support from a Learning Support Assistant.
